i buy these basically to see work from my friends and to steal represenation ideas... no one reads the text obviously, and i don't think we're intended too... based purely on the quality of production and reproduction of the work this is much better than past editions. i appreciate that the work is considered, in the way it is presented, as "real", or "professional" level work, instead of a just throwing a bunch of student uploaded jpegs onto the page. perhaps the GSD takes itself too seriously, but when it produces a book like this, from one years work, it is hard not to understand why.i give it 4 stars simply because i know much of the research behind the work is total bs, or incomplete at best. but their production of drawings is the best anywhere, period.
Nice texts. Making the images smaller and the the text larger in proportion seems to emphasize ideas instead of seductive images... or maybe more opaque? hehe. Either way, I liked this book and felt that it was worth the money.
