We liked the majority of the summaries, but wished there was more detail and examples where possible. Also wished there was a way to bind each topic flashcards together, like maybe hole punched at the corner so a ring can bind them and easier to flip through. Good summaries.
AWESOME study system! My sister always has the HARDEST time concentrating when we give her books and long study guides to read, but these flashcards were great for quick tips and easy learning and for her attention span. She zipped through 20-30 a day, and she liked them a lot! She's learned a lot more from doing the flashcards in a span of a few weeks than she has with her books for a year. She says they were very helpful and that the cards were summarized and got to the main point or lesson of what she was learning. She learned many vocabulary terms that helped her a lot in being able to decipher some of the confusing questions in English and Reading, so it's definitely very appreciated to have this set. You do have to rip and tear apart the flashcards yourself, but there's a nice hefty stack that makes it worth it.
I feel that it contained very useful information and I feel that a flashcard style study style is best used for my daughter. She has not yet taken the exam so I can't comment on it's helpfulness in obtaining a specific score on the exam.
I ordered this with the ACT Secrets Study Quide. My daughter is working hard studying for her 2nd ACT exam, she said she feels this covers material from the first acturately. I'm excited to see improvement in her already high score. The product is good quality and seems to be helping as her practice scores are improving.
The flashcard system is effective because they provide the "down and dirty" details which reduce anxiety for students. I use them in whole class instruction and as a team competition drill. I teach intensive reading for high school students who can use a 19 on the Reading section to qualify for graduation in place of our state test. Most students are surprised at how well they achieve this score after studying with the flashcards. I have recommended them to several teachers and parents for their use as well.
