This book is a good study guide for the ACT. It has its pros and cons. As an instructor I am always looking for study guides to recommend to my students, and this is one that I would recommend with a few cautions. It is broken into sections and has practice questions and tests, along with an answer key, all of which are good things. The first section is English and includes parts of speech, sentence construction, punctuation, point of view, active/passive voice, transitions, wordiness/redundancy. The Math section includes a large variety of questions about positive/negative numbers, order of operations, units of measurement, ratios, proportions, percentages, rational numbers exponents/radicals, algebra, linear equations, linear inequalities, quadratic equations, functions, absolute value, matrices, word problems, shapes, congruence, triangles/trigonometry, geometry, data, charts, graphs and probability. Reading includes content on main ideas, supporting details, text structure, understanding author, facts vs opinions, drawing conclusions, meaning of words and phases and comparing passages. The Science section is small and includes scientific investigations and the scientific method. Finally, the Writing section discusses how to structure the essay, how to write a thesis statement, providing supporting evidence and writing a good essay. All of these sections include sample questions and an answer key. The second part of the book has practice tests and answer keys for each section, including time limits. The biggest con for me with this book is that it does not explain the answers. If there is something you do not understand and need an explanation about the answer, this book is not going to give it to you. I really like study books that explain the answers. Overall, this is a good guide and explains the material well, but if you need a lot of help on certain subjects you will need additional materials to explain them.I purchased this item with a promotional discount t for my honest review. All of my reviews are my honest opinion regardless of whether I received a discount or not. I am never paid for my reviews nor do I have any affiliation with the seller.

I purchased this for my daughter because she is the only one left in the house that needs to prepare for the ACT and SAT. She took the ACT in 7th grade with the Duke TIPS program and she felt like there was a lot of material she had never seen, which was to be expected. I want to make sure she starts preparing now in as she is about to start high school so she is fully ready by 11th grade to take it. My son just took it and he got a 29. This book is great and has everything they need to get prepared. If you have any questions on this ACT study guide, please feel free to send me a message. I received this ACT study guide for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion and unbiased review.

This ACT Prep Book includes helpful hints and tips for each of the four sections on the ACT exam. The sections are well-composed, and they are easy to read and understand. Each of the sections are explained in a way that is general enough to help any student. I also like that they included a practice test in the back of the book, separated by section. There are many online versions of ACT prep, but the problem with those is that there is rarely an opportunity to receive feedback from someone who knows the student. Having the prep book as an actual book will allow for the student to go over the math section with a math teacher/tutor, the reading section with an English teacher/tutor, etc.Disclosure: I love Prime, and I like writing reviews. I received this on a promotional discount from the seller in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. I am not associated with the seller, I am not receiving any other compensation, and I am not required to give a good review. The discount I get does not influence my product review or seller’s feedback. If I've left anything out, please feel free to ask questions. I rely heavily on reviews and photos when I buy things online, and I hope that my reviews help you decide what to purchase. If something is missing, tell me and I will edit the review to add it. Your feedback helps my reviews get better!Criteria for products I review with ’s Rating Criteria in Parentheses:• 1 star (I hate it!): Feel it's a waste of money. Will never use it again.
