This attractive, newly designed set of Barron's Anatomy Flash Cards makes an ideal study aid for med school students, nursing students, and health care trainees who are preparing for tests. Each card pictures a human body part labeled with its medical name, location in the body, and function. A total of 265 4" x 6" cards show muscles, bones, and organs, and are color coded according to their general function in the human body. An important new feature in this second edition is a related Internet resource that contains electronic color images of each flash card. Students can now connect to Barron's special anatomy Web site and enter a unique code allowing them access to the interactive Web site. Once logged on, students can use the site's interactive technology to test themselves on every detail contained on the cards, and even create playlists of particular systems or areas where they require further study. The cards come boxed with a full-color, anatomically accurate poster that shows the human body and its major parts, as well as a toggle so cards can be pulled out and studied on-the-go. Barron's anatomy flashcards are nice if you have no other options. However, there are many other options out there. I highly recommend Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards. Netter's drawings are more accurate, more thorough, better presented, and more memorable.Also, if you were planning on using Barron's online functionality, beware that the site is not functioning. Upon calling Barron's customer support, they state that they are aware of the issues and cannot offer me a fix.If you already have these cards, you will probably be fine. They will help you learn anatomy, but if you are trying to decide on which cards to buy, just spend a bit more and get the best.
I am a surgery coder and work with several surgeons. I dissect operative reports for accuracy. As anyone who's worked in medicine before knows....different providers call things by different names. So, to help me under the full human anatomy I got the Barron's Anatomy Cards. And I'm glad I did. The illustrations are great. They are detailed and categorized well. Bonus: they come with a free online subscription. The online cards match the paper cards exactly. This is great because it allows you to personalize category groupings. I set up my online cards by specialty which is really handy. The one downside is the text for each card is written on the backside. You have to flip back and forth to identify/read about the structure. My workaround for this is having my online cards up and my paper card in hand so I can look at and read about each structure without the continual flipping.
I am a nursing student taking General Anatomy & Physiology, and I love these flashcards. They are very detailed, and they help me to study the specific systems of the body when I don't have models available to me. They are a great buy and I would recommend them to any Anatomy student!
I love the flash cards. I am learning so much. I give props to the author of the cards. I am learning my anatomy so well. It's very easy to understand. Makes learning anatomy so much fun. Every detail is so clear. I picture myself looking inside the human body. It is definitely a blessing to learn with ease. I learn much faster with visual notes. I specifically pay attention to every detail. I love the way the cards are numbered. You can easily place the cards back to their positions. It is absolutely amazing to me. I am going at my own pace. I don't feel pressured to learn. I am taking my time. I want to know all about the human body. The flash cards are my "saving grace." I learned anatomy in school; however, if you don't keep it up, you will not remember. I am so glad I had this opportunity to study. I am 62 years old. I never got a chance to get my job in the operating room. This is a come back for me. My father became ill. I promise him that I would take my test and get my good job. My father passed in November of 2010. I was devastated. I know that God will answer my prayer and grant me the opportunity to live my dream. These things do not show good views of the features of the human body. Whilst some cards are okay, where you need good angles in places such as the FOREARM MUSCLES, this thing comes up real short. As someone who has to take exams on real human cadavers as well as models, these cards are insufficient for proficiency at anatomy. It does pretty good with bones but doesn't always name all the features on the bone. Again, some of my biggest complaints are on the muscles where some of them are misnamed! As an example it confuses the Adductor longus with the adductor magnus! That's not an easy mistake as one is on the anterior part of the thigh and the other is on the posterior.
I read so many good reviews about this product so why not try them? These cards look like they'll help me with my A&P course. On one side it has a picture, the name of the picture and numbers.They came in about a week or so. The only minor issue it had was that the lid was almost torn apart but it's not much of a big issue since I bought it as "used" I'll keep updating once I start using them.

Pretty effective learning tool when used in conjunction with other sources like texts and lectures. Also good as a refresher for medical students and artists and those interested enough to study them for exercise or health reasons.
