Review written by 14 year old girl:Kingdom's Quest is a continuation of the Kingdom's Call story and the fifth book in The Kingdom Series by Chuck Black. I almost felt like I was a real spectator to the book with how much life was brought to the story through the full cast audio version. The music was moving and the sound effects were incredible. Kingdom's Quest is my absolute favorite in the kingdom series because of the love and passion for the Prince, the change of heart, the forgiveness, a tournament, a dragon, and a romance you didn`t think possible. Sir Gavin was a Noble Knight of Chessington and a tyrant to followers of the Prince. But when he meets the Prince he is given a new heart, and new name, and a new mission. Sir Gavinaugh, Knight of the Prince is to bring the good news of the Prince to all who will hear it. Because of his past, he has many enemies and few who trust him. But with his faith in the Prince, he is ready for anything. Anything except the anger and revenge lurking in the heart of the beautiful Keanna, a slave girl who suffers from the aftermath of a choice Gavinaugh made as a tyrant. This is an marvelous retelling of the story of Paul`s conversion. Saul was a Pharisee who imprisoned Jesus' followers. Gavin was a Noble Knight who imprisoned followers of the Prince. Both had a change of heart and name and preached the good news. This story is phenomenal, well dramatized, and my nonnegotiable favorite book in The Kingdom Series. Andy Turvey and Dawn Marshall do a spectacular job narrating all The Kingdom Series books and they did an exceptional job on Kingdom's Quest. The book was clean, perfect for a person of any age, and outstandingly done!I only use 5 stars on books I buy for my permanent library. I love these books. I have finished this series and started on the Knight series. I'm going to read all of Chuck Black's books. Also, I am starting a Bible Study for kids between ages of 7-13 and using these books for the study. At the end of each story is a list of questions for each chapter plus answers. This I believe will be a wonderful study for them. Mr. Black has taken the Bible and changed it to Medieval times and has stayed true to the Bible. I really didn't remember even purchasing the first book on my Kindle I happen to start reading it and realized it wasn't the first one in the Kingdom Series so I had to get the first one. The wonderful thing about a Kindle as soon as you finish one book you can immediately buy the second book. The only thing after reading these books I wish I would have bought the actual books because of the study but I can still make due. I highly recommend these books for any age starting from 7 up. Of course, for an adult they are an easy read still a wonderful read! I hope Mr. Black continues to take stories from the Bible and write many more books!
I did not know what to expect from Chuck Black book. Biblical allegories are often lame and you get the feeling the author is trying too hard to make a point. That is not the case here. These books are fun to read. Chuck Black is the author of many novels including the popular Kingdom Series and The Knights of Arrethtrae series. Each story is strong enough to stand on its own. I have 10 kids, and each of the readers enjoy the books. Even kids who are not familiar with the different Bible stories will still be on the edge of their seats. My wife has read all of them aloud. Our children are familiar with Bible stories, and they "get" what is going on. It adds another whole level of interest as they try to link the story they are hearing with the stories they already know. But, that usually happens after each episode, since some of the segments are so tense they are completely lost in the story. Then, after reading to them we hear "Please! One more chapter!" This is a refrain I hear nearly every night.
This is an amazing book. It has everything from a dragon and pirates to duels and a tournament topped off by an unexpected ending. I recommend this book to everyone.Reviewed by Reid A. Young Reviewer
My son loves this series, he's 10. And always asks me for the next book. Glad to give him something with content I don't have to worry about. He prompted my husband to read a particular scene and even my husband commented on how well the books are written.Great service from which I ordered as well.
I liked that it's set in mid evil times and represents the Bible.Awesome character development.I don't like how people die at the best parts!I recommend this book for Christian young people or non-Christians.I rated this because it's a good book, full of action and adventure. This book and the entire Kingdom series are simply amazing! I have them on CD, so my 8-year-old son and I can listen to them in the car. We have listened to them over and over, and Sir Gavin is one of the best. This series has helped my son learn so much about Jesus Christ, and has helped him fall in love with Him. Thank you.
I read this entire series for the first time when I was 12 years old, and since I had borrowed it from a good friend, I wanted to get my hands on copies for myself. Since I received them, I have lent them to yet another friend of mine! This is a series that both boys and girls of all ages can enjoy :)
