This book is just terrible, I have been the ACT and now SAT test prep teacher at my high school. With the newly designed SAT, I have been trying to find any and all resources to help prepare my students. I bought this book because I thought having 6 practice tests would give me a huge library to pull questions from. However, I have noticed that this book is useless. The math section has numerous errors. Even though they may have the correct work in explanations, the answer they give is just flat out wrong. The reading test gives artificially difficult passages. There were many times where a question could have multiple correct answers based on what the passage says. The English and Language usage test is another joke. The questions here are artificially difficult because the answer choices contain 4 answers that no normal person would actually select. I found myself on numerous occasions thinking that ALL of the answers were wrong. Not to mention the explanations in this section are bad as well. Instead of explaining why all the answer choices are wrong, it just explains why the correct answer is correct. Many times these explanations are bad and don't actually fix the sentence. I run weekend study sessions with an English and Science teacher (I am certified in math) and we all think that this book is just bad. I do not normally write reviews on , but I wish someone would have written this review for me to see before I spend money on it. Stay away from this if you want to prep for the new SAT.
My son has started practicing the test on this book. Right in practice Test 1 for Maths calculator section, Q 17 Page # 79, the answer given is wrong. The question:"A list of the weights of five, sixth-grade students are listed below:x, 108, 112, 113, 119If 112 is median value of the weights, what is the greatest value of x (assume x is a positive integer)?A) 107 B) 111 C) 112 D) 118The answer to this question should be 112, as it doesn't mention anything about the mode which means two students can have the same weight, however the answer given is 111.I would like to know from Barron's what is the right answer? if it is 111, would like to know the explanation. If it is indeed 112, would like to understand what is the quality check process put in so that the students are preparing it correctly. I am now wary of using this book for SAT preparation.
The practice tests are completely inaccurate. One of the questions asked what the best title would be for a passage, and the real SAT would NEVER ask a question like that. Also, there is a lack of evidence-based questions in these practice tests, although these types of questions are the ones that are emphasized the most on the real exam.
Been waiting for this book for a while now. It's been out of stock at  but I bought it last week at Barnes & Noble.Working my way through the practice tests. So far, so good. Happy with the difficulty range. This should be good practice for the upcoming new SAT test.
All set for Saturday's test, this book was a big help. I give it a B++++
I am an SAT tutor and I find this book unrealistic. The reading passages, while interesting and deep, come with questions that deviate from what the college board tests and often contain more than one answer. The writing section, on the other hand, is artificially difficult and tests skills irrelevant to success in the New SAT. If you want quality practice tests, do not buy this book.

These are 6 GREAT practice tests. Did whatever online tests I could find but this book worked just as good if not better. The answers explained are a BIG help. Not much time left to before the test, but I am feeling much better about it, at least I feel prepared!
