Other 1-star reviews for this biochem review book claim that there are no passages in the book. I wholeheartedly agree with those reviewers, and that fact is worthy of a 1-star rating in itself. However, my 1-star rating comes from the fact that a lot of molecular genetics (a BIOLOGY topic) is discussed here in a biochemistry book. Why aren't those topics in the Biology review book instead?? The AAMC topic outline clearly and explicitly lists molecular genetics (with DNA technology) as BIO topics.Now, it doesn't take a psychometrician to realize Kaplan's motives here. They were looking to perform a "cash grab" on pre-med students, plain and simple. In order to effectively prepare for the Biology portion of the exam (which contains the most content), you would also need to purchase the Biochemistry review book. That's a really awful and sneaky marketing ploy put forth by Kaplan. I am SO sick and tired of testing companies trying to rape and pillage the pockets of already poor students. It's disgusting. This is the kind of thinking you need to possess to REALLY succeed in medical school. Try to pick out the hidden, underlying motives behind everything. Once you see that, you can glean the bigger picture a lot more easily.

The book is a highly detailed review of biochemistry. I hadn't had biochemistry in a few years so it was a helpful refresher. There are no passages in the book just free-standing questions. However, there is access online.

This is a good biochem book. One drawback is that it doesn't have passage based practice questions but if you just want to review biochem I would recommend this book.

this book is basically a study guide of my biochem Lehninger textbook. no passages at all. i wonder how can aamc approve this book to prepare for biochem section 2015 mcat. 13 chapters, contains college biochem 1 and 2 chapters, and way too much details.

No passages without going online, which destroys the whole point of getting a print book. Furthermore several chapters are downright word for word photocopied from the 2012 Organic Chemistry book. Just find a copy of Lenhinger and you'll be better off.

It gives you the information. Online help is ok.

Thought it would give me full length practice exams but its just biochemistry exams
