There is currently a character in a commercial who has been everywhere and done everything who is described as "The most interesting man in the world." In his autobiography Henri Keyzer-Andre comes off as something of a real life version of that character. As a skilled pilot and engineer and a facile linguist, Keyzer-Andre was just the sort of man-on-the-ground (so to speak) to implement Juan Trippe's dream of Pan Am's domination of the international airways. After his Pan Am career ended over a falling out with Trippe, Keyzer-Andre continued to travel the globe for the FAA as well as undertaking certain 'special tasks' for the U.S. government. Along the way he collected an amazing set of stories, which form the basis of this book.The cover advertises Keyzer-Andre's assertion that the Japanese managed to decoy off course and then recover Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra in order to advance the design of the Zero fighter and copy the advanced radio and avionic equipment on board. He also asserts that the Japanese snatched a Pam Am clipper some years earlier for the same reason. What makes Keyzer-Andre's case interesting is that he was granted access to the development blueprints of the Zero during his time in Japan during the occupation. In his expert opinion the blueprints show the incorporation of features from the Electra in the months following Earhart's disappearance. There is also what he considers a near admission of guilt by a Japanese official. Anyone wishing to get the whole story will have to read the book.The golden age of aviation certainly was an 'Age of Heroes'. Keyzer-Andre rubbed shoulders with many of them, including Earhart and Howard Hughes. This book does a service in reminding us that the heroes who made the headlines weren't the only ones around back then. Here is Henri Keyzer-Andre's story, one certainly worth the telling, and the listening.
A truly fascinating and interesting account of the adventures and tragedies that took place in the life of this aviator. The things he reveals in this book should be common knowledge by now. Unfortunately, I'm sure the parties involved, if there are any of them still alive, would not be willing to admit to some of these things Andre describes and he has no way of proving his revelations otherwise that I know of.
If you are a pilot who likes flying history. This is a must read. Also the Amelia Earhart mystery solved. This is PAA World Airways at it's best.

The book was in very poor condition. However, it was free, so I guess you get what you pay for. I had previously ordered the same book and got wonderful results, so I expected better.
