I loved this book! The author was raised about a hundred miles from where I live. It gave me some ideas on where to go to photograph petroglyphs. I was very familiar with most of the places he talked about and knew of some of the events he mentioned.He also had some ideas on the interpretation of petroglyphs which led me to purchase another book, "The Rocks Begin to Speak" by LaVan Martineau. This also, was a very good book.If you are from Eastern Oregon you would enjoy this book.

A poetic history of geography, environment, culture ~describing the author's personal love of Place, Lake County, Oregon .I immediately wanted to re-read this book. Beautiful writing.
