This book is a chore to read. It takes simple, 1-sentence concepts, and inflates them into a convoluted paragraph. It could be good for selective reference, but becomes unbearable to read after a few pages. Very, very wordy.
Don't really know how useful a textbook review is since if your class requires it you are going to buy it whether it has good reviews or not. That being said, I'll give it a try anyway. Content of the book is very user friendly. This is the first procurement class I have taken, and the book does a good job of introducing the subject matter.It is sturdy enough that if you take good are of it, you should be able to resell it easily. It is light enough that it is not a pain to try and read it. I have another textbook that is substantially larger and more of a pain to read while lying in bed. This one is much more convenient in that regard.
I'm having a really difficult time with this text. It is loaded with unnecessary technical jargon and arbitrary list, upon list, of factors to consider for every possible scenario. Had I read this text prior to entering the procurement industry, I would have ran screaming in the opposite direction, as the the complexity of the profession portrayed in the text is way over the top. This text is assigned as mandatory reading for an introductory course.
Good explanation of the supply process. I wouldn't start here if learning about supply chain management but this is a good intermediate book as you go through the process.
Great textbook.gives readers an inside look at real world tasks that they will experience through various case analysis. Highly recommend.
My teacher approved this version and it well work for my college online classes I'm taking. Great price and great material to read.
