Renting a textbook is an awesome idea. I almost didn't take this class as the text was sooooo expensive. I rented this book for a fraction of the cost to buy. The book arrived quickly, once the class was done I received notification that the book was due back, postage was paid and I used the box it was shipped in and returned. I will consider this option again.
This is a GREAT book. It's SO easy to follow--very quick and easy read. It is complete--meaning no supplementals like a study guide (paper/online), etc.I got an A. If you've ever had an awful manager and wonder how they kept their job, this book will read like the purest COMMON SENSE (validating how that awful manager's superiors had/have none). It'll make you crave every supervisor/manager you've ever had take at least ONE formal management course.I got A's across the board in this class (took the class online at a local college).With all that, YOU will quickly get a formal foundation for being a better manager than your worst one and for being as good as, or better than, your best ones.
None of the books on Anazon come with the critical and expensive computer accessvcodes even when the book is new. Read carefully or better yet make sure you don't need computer access codes, if you do but elsewhere.
Let me first say, that when I purchased this textbook, I did not have high expectationsâfor I never found management literature to excellent learning material. This textbook has proved me wrong. Ever since I started reading this book for my upper division Business Management Principles class, I found it to be not only informative but also entertaining. The information presented within this book is not only organized well, but is presented in a way that the information is simple to consume. I highly recommend for anyone who wants a great foundational book about management.
Book is very up-to-date, has lots of quotes and presents material in an orderly, basic fashion in layman's terms. Easy to follow and lots of examples and situations that are relevant in today's business climate.
Management: A Practical Introduction was the book that I was required to purchase for a college management course. This is one of the few books that was well written, easy to read and a delight to use.

I took this class online and had no trouble. I am selling the book as new because it has all pages, no highlighting, and I barely needed to open it. Get it cheap. Why pay more for a book that's wrapped in plastic? They have the same words
