In this honest, frank, and funny debut novel, four best friends make a pact during their senior year of high school to lose their virginities—and end up finding friendship, love, and self-discovery along the way.To be honest, the sex pact wasn’t always part of the plan. Layla started it. She announced it super casually to the rest of the girls between bites of frozen yogurt, as if it was just simply another addition to her massive, ever-evolving To Do List. She is determined to have sex for the first time before the end of high school. Initially, the rest of the crew is scandalized, but, once they all admit to wanting to lose their v-cards too, they embark on a quest to do the deed together... separately. Layla’s got it in the bag. Her serious boyfriend, Logan, has been asking for months. Alex has already done it. Or so she says. Emma doesn’t know what the fuss is all about, but sure, she’ll give it a shot. And Zoe, well, Zoe can’t even say the o word without bursting into giggles. Will everything go according to plan? Probably not. But at least the girls have each other every hilarious, heart-warming, cringe-inducing step of the way. From debut author Lindsey Rosin, Cherry is a coming-of-age, laugh-out-loud tale of first times, last chances, and the enduring friendships that make it all worthwhile.

Four high school besties - Layla, Alex, Zoe, and Emma - make a pact to lose their virginities by high school graduation. What follows is an authentic, emotion-filled, laugh-inducing plunge down memory lane for anyone who remembers their first time, or has tried their best to forget it. This debut novel from screenwriter and director Lindsey Rosin hews remarkably close to the real-life high school experience and paints a detailed picture of teenage friendship, drama, and sex. Gripping, funny, and heartrending, Cherry is an important book, and a must-read for those who cherish their formative years and the people who made them unforgettable.

Lindsey's first novel is everything you could ever want from a coming-of-age story. At its core, it's about friendship - about a group of girls who know each other better than they know themselves. From the moment we meet them mid-froyo, we know that no one in the history of the world has ever been this close. They are the "ship" that steers this witty and honest YA debut. The heart is there, and yes, the feels are there too. All of them. Read it. Love it. Share it. This might be a first for Lindsey Rosin, but it definitely isn't the last!

We need this book. Such an important conversation about modern sexuality, friendship and love all packed in to a fantastic story about best friends. It made me miss High School and wish I had the connection these girls (and guys) did at their ages. Rosin writes with such ease in the voice of teens without making them sound immature or careless. It felt real and yet as a 30-something I was just as engaged. A fantastic debut.

I picked up this book thinking that it was going to be relationships-- and it is, just not the kind that I imagined. Yes, it's about four girls trying to lose their virginity in a positive way, but the focus is really on the FEMALE friendships-- not the romantic ones. And the four best friends are written perfectly. The love each other, the support each other, they tell each other (almost) everything.... the author captures perfectly how girlfriends talk to each other about sex. Their conversations had me laughing out loud. This book was a lot of fun!

This book is perfection. I laughed. I cried. It took me right back to how I felt in high school in the best way. This is honest, real, and so relatable. I saw a little bit of myself in each of the characters, and found myself rooting for each of them in their own ways. I'm honestly jealous of all of you out there who haven't read it yet because you get to experience it, for the first time...

A relatable , fun book about young female friendship and, oh yea, sex. All the characters are so specific and unique they feel like they are living and breathing right off the page. A must read for anyone who has lived through those awkward high school moments of crushes, first kisses, first...other things, and first friendships. Nothing is sugar coated. This is a very perceptive, enjoyable look into the life of a teenage girl.

An absolute page turner! I purchased the book as I heard about it through a friend and was amazed at how quickly I finished it (often giggling with my husband looking at me like I'm a crazy person). It brought me back to all of the awkwardness and amazing-ness that was high school. My only regret is that I wished I had this book when I was in high school so I could have these characters I could relate to and look up to as I navigated this oh so awkward stage of my life. If you are a teen or young adult, you need to read this! Couldn't recommend this book more!

I loved this story of 4 teenage girls who decide to all lose their virginities by their high school graduation. I feel like there are 20,000 similar stories about MEN of varying ages trying to seek sexual pleasure (off the top of my head- American Pie, The 40-Year-Old Virgin... wait... basically every story being told in the world today is about men and their relationship and pursuit of sex. Right.) and so I am OVERJOYED that there is a sex-positive story about GIRLS wanting to do it. We need MORE OF THIS. Rosin hits all the right notes here. She includes a lesbian character, a character who's not-quite-ready-but-still-interested, a character who's already done it (or has she...?) All the main characters have their own distinct voices and their own powerful reasons for when, where, and with whom they eventually decide to lose their virginity. What a great message- that girls can be empowered enough to seek out their own destiny. Looking forward to more and more from this author!
