To my knowledge, this book is the first of it's kind. There are quite a few books on the market which are dedicated solely to this complex Goddess, the majority of which are purely academic explorations into her various roles within different points of history around the ancient world. For many, the purely academic titles, whilst interesting, can be found by the reader to be a little dry, especially when we take into consideration that a substantial segment of the readership comes from those involved in various forms of neo-pagan or occult disciplines in search of inspiration for workable practices as means of accessing Hekate. In " The Temple of Hekate", readers of this ilk will be delighted to find that many of their prayers have been answered. It is as if the work has been done for us.Tara Sanchez has spent several years trawling painstakingly through all of the major old world texts pertaining to this Goddess and her background, and it really shows! The author's solid grounding in the mythological themes and magical and religious practices of the ancient Greek world shine through on almost every page. Even more refreshingly, the author has not just been studying Hekate, but working magickally with her intensely. The wealth of practical ritual application in this book is a fascinating insight into one occultist's discoveries along her Hekatean path. Tara Sanchez emphasises throughout the book that the practical exercises and rituals are simply her methods for establishing a working relationship with Hekate and encourages the reader to make use of what they will and develop their own workings.
