I had always been interested in psychic phenomenon, but had never taken the time to read up on the subject. What a perfect place to start! Ms. Barnum writes with great knowledge about a subject she obviously loves. I believe one of her goals in this book is to help bring out the psychic in all of us, which is a fun approach. My favorite part of the book is the glossary at the back. This is something I know I will refer to again and again. I look forward to more from this up-and-coming author!!!

I absolutely could not put this book down! Who hasn't had a dream that stayed with them long after they woke up, or felt an odd sense of deja vu that they couldn't explain? Ms. Barnum has given us an incredible tool to help us tap into our own natural intuition and to decode these messages that we are receiving from the world. The stories are both amusing and informative and the exercises that she sprinkles liberally throughout the book are thought provoking. I keep finding myself grabbing for the book, flipping to the glossary and looking up the meaning of recurring symbols that I now recognize in my life.For example, I now realize that the dream that I have had off and on throughout my life, where my teeth crumble and fall out of my mouth, means that I feel as though I'm losing control of things...which I AM, but I never realized that my dream was actually trying to tell me something (other than to go to the dentist!)This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to connect on a deeper level with the world around them.
I have purchased and read many books in this field. This has been one of my favorites. The book is descriptive and down to earth. I refer to it often to help with psychic symbols I receive during readings.
This is the 1st book of its kind that I have ever purchased. I found it a very easy read. I loved the exercises, they helped to bring the concepts home and made them easier to grasp. The stories were great and made reading the book a joy. I found it helpful and fun.
I would have enjoyed it better had there been more graphics. I expected the symbols to be displayed as well as described. Like a cookbook with few photos.
This is an excellent psychic how-to. Organized around the intuitive use of symbols, the book covers the basics of tapping into and trusting our innate intuitive abilities, developing our psychic senses safely, and effectively applying psychic skills towards productive goals. Barnum includes exercises for psychic journaling, for connecting with spirit guides, for developing clairvoyance and other psychic senses, for grounding, for using psychometry and remote viewing, for interpreting colors, for understanding chakras and auras, and for working with tarot images. There are also sections about developing personal symbol interpretation, analyzing dreams, and symbol synchronicity in the physical world. The extensive glossary of symbols at the end of the book provides a terrific starter reference for those readers who are just beginning to tap into their intuitive side.Barnum speaks with the authority of someone who has worked successfully as a professional intuitive for years. She shares her expertise openly with readers. She has written a book which makes sense (something a lot of intuitives are not able to manage).
