Students may be able to read, but do they understand that different text types should be read differently for maximum comprehension and effect? Probably not. This book will help them understand the difference between reading a fictional story, a play, poetry, and types of nonfiction. What should they look for? What kinds of information do headings and image captions give? What format do plays use? The reproducibles in this affordable book will reinforce lessons. Graphic organizers and mind maps give students practice to increase their reading success.
Great to accompany any reading program. As a reading teacher of 18 years I can assure you that children need to be able to identify the types of text. This book will help children master this greatly needed skill.
This book is a great addition to my teaching library. I've used it for a multitude of purposes. I've used the book as a starting point for differentiation in my classroom.

As a parent, we are looking for the ways to improve kid's academic performance. I just forget to pay attention to the total pages of the book. The book is 44 PAGES and the cost is about $0.20 per page. The book is not suitable for children rather than it is a book for teachers or education workers.
