I absolutely LOVE this series. I also love that you can buy three books in one which is really helpful if your tight on cash like me and other college students. This is definitely on the top of my must read list. If your thinking about starting this series . . . DO! Just don't read it when you need to get other things done because trust me, you'll spend more time reading than getting anything else done.
This series continues to get better. I'm a manga fan, but I like progress in a story. I often find that series will fill space between quality narrative with fluff pieces, which as a purchaser drives me crazy. Fullmetal is the wonderful exception to the rule so far. Starting in volume 2 and continuing at least through this work (I can't testify to the later volumes) the story is well paced and grows in intrigue without slipping into lazy writing or framing, which can also be a failure in the genre. I'd put this alongside Attack on Titan in terms of quality, though the art is superior. Also the quality of the book itself was solid. Thin pages, but what else do you expect for 600 page manga?
Came in the same box in perfect condition! I bought this because it was cheaper for 3 combined than getting them individually. The content was different than what was enjoyed from the show. I was very pleased with this.
Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the most revered manga to come out Japan, and it's easy to see why. Arakawa writes a great adventure story, with a wide cast of characters and thrilling plot. That's not to say there aren't flaws, though.I criticized the first 3-in-1 collection of fullmetal alchemist for being way too fast paced. This volume goes in the other direction, with most of the chapters being devoted to flashbacks, and a few less important side-stories used to flesh out the characters. By the end of the volume, however, it looks like all the pieces are finally in place for the next volume to be the best yet.
I seriously love this manga, I love that you can order 3 in 1. It really helped save money for more Fullmetal alchemist stuff. It is also very useful so you don't have to buy all those books
Brought this along with the 3 in one volume 1, 2, 3 volume and they came together! Was a great value, its cheaper than buying each manga individually! Would purchase this again :)
Seriously, this book actually made me feel. I just can't even cope with the loss that was experienced in this book. Then the action kicks back in and everything is healed!
The price and size of the book is great. I recommended for any anime fan. its a little bit different from each of the tv shows, but still the same level of awesomeness
