I'm a big fan of Chris McMullen's workbooks, generally just for the extra practice problems. This one, though, is really well done. It isn't advanced, but is a nifty little book to give kids an idea of how to look for the pattern (instead of the answer.) Most of the patterns are pretty clear, but there are enough slightly tricky ones to throw a kid off their game if they're just trying to find an answer or taking the "This is easy, I don't have to work at it" approach.The schools do very little (if any) pattern work with the kids and it's on the dang SAT, so they need to learn it and they must begin somewhere. This is an EXCELLENT place to begin.Now if he'd just write a tougher one. I cannot seem to find a good book for the next step up.
My daughter is obsessed with giving herself "extra homework". This book has been a life saver keeping her busy!
It's a fun puzzle book for a long flight, well hold two wild boys attention.
