Twelve pages may be sufficient for Pennsylvania butterflies... there aren't that many of them. This guide is a bit too abbreviated though; it does not tell how common a species is, nor does it have a map, not even a little one, showing the range of the species in PA.
When I see a butterfly, I always wonder, what kind is it?This pamphlet gives you the butterfly species, and what type of habitat it may be found in Pennsylvania.The pamphlet is also laminated to make it more durable when carried in the field.The caterpillar and pupae stages are also included.This is a wonderful pamphlet to educate children about butterflies and moths.I highly recommend it for the casual butterfly watcher.
After planting a butterfly garden in my yard, here is Pennsylvania, the reference book I had was for butterflies all over the world. However, I needed to limit my search to identify a new butterfly in my new garden to those from my area.This guide is perfect. It is a quick easy reference for those butterflies native to Pennsylvania. Thank you.
At first I was dissapointed that this was not a book. But after some thought... this is better! You can open it up and see all the wonderful, colorful pictures all grouped together so you can easily identify what you are looking at. It's laminated so it won't get ruined if it happens to get wet. Money well spent in my opinion!
I am "very happy with this guide"!!.Well worth the price.I "recommend this to all who have a interest in nature",it would a great one for younger folks to start with.
