Every time when I envisioned the majestic T-Rex haplessly attempting to assimilate to modern culture and there was not an outlet for my visions - this book encapsulates every single one of them. It began with the author's first book - T-Rex Trying - and continues with this (hopefully not the last) book. Seriously. His (or her - She-Rex not excluded) arms are sooo tiny!!! How can he (or she) seriously think that they can do these things? Oh, that's right, brains the size of a peanut. Dumb dinosaurs. No wonder why they are extinct. But we can take solace in their amusing attempt at mammal life.
Hugh Murphy's second book is just as witty as his first! The introductions of She-Rex and Wee-Rex lend a wonderful new spectrum to an already enjoyable premise. So cute, so funny, another winning compilation!
A great book for all ages. I gave this to friends after my children gave it to me, since I liked it so much. Last summer, when my husband broke many ribs in a bike accident, our kids came to the hospital to cheer him up. They brought this book and read it to him, making him need more drugs! However, it did brighten his mood (as well as everyone's in the emergency room!) Tip: Don't read this when you have broken ribs.
This is a book everyone can love. I just received my copy of T-Rex Trying and Trying and can't wait to share with my family this weekend. This book is so cute and full of laughs! The original artwork is delightful and I love the addition of She-Rex. Aside from the "small arms" joke, Hugh Murphy does a wonderful job of creating a sensitive and adorable character in T-Rex. His eyebrows have so much personality and he makes me laugh every time.
A triumphant tome on the trials and tribulations of the tyrant king of the Dinosaurs, Mr. Murphy eloquently brings to bear the shortcomings of the otherwise menacing prehistoric titan. Perfect for any family or fun-loving individual who enjoys a quirky take on humorously imagined fantastical scenarios performed by T.Rex himself.
This book is awesome! T-Rex's tiny arms and big heart are both funny and heart-warming. Buy this for a friend as a great gift, or add it to your office or coffee table collection. You're guaranteed to laugh!
I bought this and its predecessor "T-Rex Trying" for light entertainment on a cruise ship. It was a good purchase! The whimsical illustrations and ingenious humor helped me relax and enjoy myself. Of course, some of the jokes are better than others, but there are enough really good ones to elicit chuckles and the occasional guffaw. It was the first time I bought an illustrated book to read on my KindleWhite. If you have doubts about using the digital version of this book vs. the printed version, I would say: don't worry. I found it quite readable and enjoyable in black and white on the KindleWhite screen.
Inspiration for anyone who struggles with tasks that really don't suit their abilities. A wry, charming, warm hearted compendium of cartoons in which frustration (the character's) and a chuckle (yours) loom in the circumstance of each drawing. Laughter really may be the best medecine. I bought a dozen for gifts!
