There is a wealth of information including probably over 100 charts and illustrations in this book. For many people, this and the accompanying text will make the book worth having. However, if you are going to write a 543 page book and promise some significant conclusions about important subjects, you need to do better than this book. This is more like a textbook that labors to cover all of the issues in a scholarly way but never really comes up with any new or useful ideas or solutions to the important problems of the world. Sachs is assuming his name and reputation will sell this book and convince people to go to the trouble of reading it and recommending it to others.
