An inspiring new rhetoric that takes some of the best ideas animating the field of composition and makes them teachable.Everyone’s an Author focuses on writing as it really is today―with words, images, and sounds, in print and online―and encourages students to see the connections between their everyday writing and academic writing. It covers the genres college students need to learn to write―and teaches them to do so across media. It bridges the gap between Facebook and academic writing, showing how the strategies students use instinctively in social media can inform their academic writing. And it provides a strong rhetorical framework that guides students in the decisions they need to make as authors today.

I received this book in pristine condition. There were no damages when I received it. It is a good book that covers a broad range of topics. However, I only read sections of this book when assigned through my class.

I purchased this copy of Everyone's An Author for my freshman english class this year because it was the book required for the course. I am a person who is cheap and definitely thinks why the hell do we have to pay so much money for college textbooks, but with this one it is much cheaper than most college textbooks. It is a great book for beginner level writers because it incorporates all the key writing skills and rhetorical situations which help you grow as a writer. I know it really has helped improve my writing in all areas. I had to buy this product because it was required for my class, but i would recommend this book to anybody who is looking to improve their writing and to people who want to learn more about english. Overall this is a great book that would definitely be helpful to anyone.

Missing sections and chapters that I needed. Got the right version but with important segments missing. Sometimes my professor would be reading sentences and paragraphs omitted from my version. Felt like a total idiot for buying this. Next time I'll just buy the book through my school.

The way information is presented in this book is both good and bad.First off: The Good....This book isn't just another "do things like this" text. It actually uses reasoning and presents evidence to support it's argument, (that grammar is somehow important to text.) I firmly believe that when it comes to a great essay, the manner in which it is presented and the information or story it is composed of is truly the only important thing. So as assumed I struggle with the "little stuff" as my professor calls it. This book helped me in that sense that instead of banging my head against a wall for countless hours trying to think of how to word a stupid thesis statement, I can simply read a chapter or two and be given examples on ways of how to construct my own sentence in any sort of situation. Now the bad:Organization is the downfall of this text. The only complaint I had while using it would be that I would be having trouble understanding a certain concept at first. When this happened to me the first time I was reading through the text with the inability to shake the feeling that I was missing a important piece of prior knowledge. I immediately came to the assumption that the text has assumed I knew the information. I learned like always assumption leads to a surprising outcome, in this case very surprising. I found the key part I was missing in a forward chapter! Later in the book! As if the people writing this had accidentally put the information in the wrong order. I would have certainly just wrote it off as a simple mishap but it occurred repeatedly until I brought the matter up with my professor and was informed I could make a list of the occurrences for the rest of the class...

Was not the current version, although it has the same cover. This is edition 1 (edition 13 is the most current). It did not have the information I needed compared to edition 13. There was no way of contacting the seller to exchange for the current edition. Very unhappy. I would not recommend this version, especially if you are using it for college courses.

Required for college classes...not the best book but okay for what's needed. Writers Inc. and On Writing Well are much better alternatives.

Very nice read, except the E-book version doesn't come with the readings that my English class required.

Very helpful book for English classes and any writing class in general.
