This book deals with 96 species of cacti that indigenous to the Americas but have spread worldwide. 41 species originate from North America and 55 from South America.In an introduction sectiuon the following subjects are discussed - origin of cacti,distribution,anatomy,classification,growing, watering,propagation,diseases and pests.Each cactus has 2 pages with first class illustrations and a text that gives the usual details of each particular cactus.The book is not comprehensive but gives a good account of some American cacti.
