I enjoyed this story from the beginning. It has lovable characters with a good plot and a happy ending. What more could you ask for? I particularly enjoyed the youth pastor Dave and his good example of what an ideal youth group could attain. The book could be best for children ages 10-15, but anyone would benefit.
As a Nebraskan who now calls Texas home, Tadley Ridge could be just about anywhere. But it brought back memories of when I would go to Kansas during the summers to visit cousins, & all of the fun, exploring, & trouble we could get into! It also reminded me of my home town in western Nebraska, where we had 'the bluffs' just south of our town. Our Youth Group hiked to the top of the bluffs for our own adventures.I think every church youth group has a name for their room with the mismatched couches: the pit, the oven, the loft...& many memories are made there. I love that 'The Miracle at Tadley Ridge' is so current, yet so timeless. And best of all, it reminds us in this busy world that there CAN be a more simple, wholesome life for our children, which is just as much, if not more fun than being 'plugged in' to technology!
The Miracle at Tadley Ridge is a great book! It's a book about a girl and her cousin who go on an adventure, and the girl injures her leg and can't walk and one of her friends goes on a similar adventure and is close to getting struck by lightning and gets hurt. They were in a major drought and God brought rain. The girl, her cousin, and her friend learn that God really is BIG!-Hope Shortridge
This week, the first one of summer vacation, I am seeing a variety of posts from mothers who are desperately trying to raise their children to have good values. With no school to attend for a few months these mothers are rallying together and creating lists of activities for the summer break that will help their children grow. Reading is on the top of everyone's list. The Miracle at Tadley Ridge should be at the top of the book list because it is entertaining, contains great lessons and is the RIGHT STUFF.
