My brother Vinny is a pig lover...Totally obsessed with the creatures. I have purchased several books from on the subject. This title is the least desirable of the bunch. The pictures are nice but many of the captions fail to identify the breed ofpig. The wild boar section Is the best part of this book. Wild boar pictures and info regarding them is pretty rare in most pig books so I add a star for that section.Overall , its a good book to add to your pig book collection. However if you only want one pig book look into other titles such as Beautiful Pigs or Extraordinary Pigs.
When I am eating alone in a restaurant, I always take out this oversize book before I chow down. By the time I'm done eating, everyone in the room, including the wait staff and manager, is laughing so hard that they forget to give me the check. Over the last 3 years, I've saved enough to open my own pig farm.
I purchased this book as a gift for an animal enthusist after previously purchasing a different one from the same Animal World series. The receiver of the book was extremely happy with it. It has amazing pictures and very interesting information. The only small complaint I got was the more than half of the book was about domestic pigs. However, the stunning pictures and info on the wild boars definitely makes up for it.
