He is the God of Israel, a God of compassion who has taken notice of their captivity and will free them. Moses asked for a name. He was given an expression of God's essence.

I had a copy of this book prior to this order. I loaned it out one too many times and did not receive it back. So I bought two copies this time. I can use this book alone or fro discussion in a group. I can never read it too many times.
I purchased this book to give to a friend as I have one and love it. A wonderful resource of the many names of God, I also use this book for devotional reading. I like to meditate on the various names of God and be on the look-out throughout the day for how/when I see that aspect of His Nature active in my life.
His names are wonderful and this book excellently presents them with supporting Scriptures in Hebrew and English. This book is such an encouragement and aid to our prayer life, our walk with the Lord, and witness to know Him better by His names and related Scriptures. Knowing His names helps us to know Him better. This book is a must for believers and unbelievers. For those that do not know Yeshua as Lord (His Hebrew name, aka Jesus), I urge you to read this book as it will help you come to know Him and His awesome love for you and His awesome ability to care for you as a Bridegroom would His bride. Please say Yes to His love! For believers, it draws us ever closer to know His names well.
Personally, I feel the title of the book is deceiving. Yes, there are a lot of names that He says "I am..." (ie. Alpha & Omega, etc) that are listed in this book, but in my opinion, a LOT of "names" they list here are describing His character. By reading the verses they provide, most of them describe what He does for us. (You would'nt give me a name like, "homemaker" because that's what I do, would you?). Anyway, I am enjoying the book, but keep thinking, "this is not a NAME, it's a character trait", so for me it is distracting in my mind. A bigger complaint I have is the fancy font they use for the Hebrew name. Very hard to read sometimes (almost impossible w/o wearing glasses). They should've just used a simple font. I do enjoy the personal application comments at the end of each "name".
I really like how this book in its simple and clear format helps a regular Joe to think divine thoughts each day, or any day we actually open it. Focusing on the names of the Almighty is something many do, but this package of names and the style in which it's written really assists.You will be glad to dig into the meanings of the names, and hopefully get to know G-d that much better as a result.
I love everything about it, the size of the book, The old testament and the new. and especially the little reflections at the bottom, It is also very informative and great teaching tool for Hebrew. This book has opened a whole new way of reading scripture.
This is a fresh take on studying the names of God. I highly recommend this book for gaing insight into the wonderfulness of our creator.
I use it as a quick reference or as a sort of study. I enjoy the use of the Messianic words.
