This book is the center of a very personal story. I read it and found it remarkable in its philosophy, the way it examines Indigenous religions without lending itself to New Age or Plastic Shaman nonsense. Vinson Brown had an accurate and insightful comprehension of the theology of the holy men he lived with, such as Frank Fools Crow and others. At times in his life, Indian holy people would set their own pipes aside at ceremonies when Vinson's was unbundled, in reverent deference to his authenticity. I found myself urgently wanting to know more. Years ago, I did something bizarre--I called the publisher and asked how to speak with Vinson Brown. I was told that he had passed away about a week or so earlier. I was discouraged until they told me that his son-in-law, a wonderful Miq'mak Indian man, was tyhere and would I like to speak with him? That man was Lionel Pinn Little Eagle, and he became one of my dearest friends. I illustrated Lionel's book, Greengrass Pipe Dancers, and Lionel was one of my groomsmen and conducted the sweatlodge ceremony for me before my wedding 11 years ago.I realize people are unlikely to find these details helpful in a book review, but it's seldom tjhat I am able to review a book in such a way that goes beyond an assessment of its scholarship and content, and remark on the personal impact it's had. Vinson Brown was on to something.

This is a book of stories and visions. It is a book of life and true spirituality and freedom. Anyone who considers themself to be one with the world or wishes to become so should read this book.

I read this book many years ago and was impressed with the scope of prophetic visions it covers from the various Native American tribes. This has been a very interesting theme to me. Also, the color art work is extremely well done by Jim Red Corn of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma.

I encourage mainly people from the Americas, from Pole to Pole to read these important prophecies. There is a lot of news these days about how immigrants have helped the formation of this great continent, but I do not hear much about the destruction, the abuses, the killings, and suffering of the aboriginal people in the three Americas. Some countries like Spain, and United Kingdom, and religious organizations such as the Roman Catholic Church, just to name one, are still not sorry for the devastation that they brought to the wonderful cultures of the Americas, not only that but the abuse still going on in many places.Do we have to celebrate Columbus Day? Does the Catholic Church had to declare Junipero Serra (missionary from Spain) a Saint after he was part of the brutality used against the natives in the area of California in the 1700's, to colonize and convert them?I can go on for long time talking about this, it is deep in my heart. I feel the suffering when I visited countries like Bolivia, Peru, and reservations in the US and Canada. May be because part of my ancestors had been killed long ago and far away, the pain is present today, here and there and needs to be healed. We do not have to believe in the prophecies that this book is mentioning, but we have to believe is time for the dignity of this great people of the Americas to be restored

The authors have consulted many different tribes and groups and found some of the same themes in dreams and visions of the wise people -- all pointing to a time of suffering for the Native Americans, and then later a time of peace and unity. It is small but covers a lot of cultures.

This book has become one of those kinds of books I turn to like many turn to the Bible. I had so many "aha's" after reading this and have shared it with anyone who will listen. HIGHLY recommended!

An excellent book for those who feel they serve a purpose in life, for those who have answered The Call, and for those who identify with saving the world. As I was born in 1969, I find myself wondering if this is this one of those core books of the Hippie generation? Sharp words in the Appendix regarding Judaism and Jewish participation. We are all God's chosen people. Original printing of this book in 1962. Where is everyone now?

Warriors of the Rainbow takes the reader on a wodnerful, deeply spiritual journey of learning and mystery. It touches on a wide varity of topics but is highlighted by some remarkable prophecy from a number of significant relgious leaders. It has obiviously been well-researched by Mr. Brown. This book should be on the shelf of any person who has ever ask themself, "What is this all about and how will it turn out"?I highly recommend this book.
