The author thoughtfully explores Saint Innocent's spiritual journeys against the social, political and geographic backdrop of 19th century Russian Alaska. Numerous tasteful illustrations complement the text. A valuable resource for pleasure reading or reading for home and/or church school.
A beloved Missionary and Saint from Russia who came to Alaska and helped to bring Orthodoxy to America. He later helped to establish the Orthodox Church in America.
I chose this book because we were planning a trip to Alaska and the book was terrific. What a great view of Alaska's early religious history. Great read.
