Bought these for a medical terminology class this semester. I am on week 4 of the class now.I do like the cards themselves. They contain the word and if it is a prefix, root, or suffix. The back gives an example of a complete medical term that uses the word on the front of the card as well as the definition and in some cases an image - particularly for anatomical root words. It does not contain all the words we have studied each week - out of 120 terms each week I have been making 2-3 note cards of my own. But, the flash cards are the exact same size as note cards so adding a couple of extra cards is simple. One thing I do not like about this set is how crowded the box is. They also do not have a ring or holes to put on a ring. Personally I like to be able to keep my cards on a ring, but its not a huge let down. I am not sure if this was the 'best' set for me to buy, but I am happy with them. They keep me from staring at a screen all day using an app. I learn better with physical materials like flash cards over electronic apps or games. My professor said that sometimes we will learn 4 different words that mean the same thing and one will be the accepted standard word, but there is no rhyme or reason why it is preferred. Also, some roots are preferred with certain suffix, while a different suffix will have a different root. I wish the cards would indicate which things were preferred.

SHOCKINGLY bad... This deck is SO FULL of errors I cannot believe it! I have made it through about 300 of the 800ish cards and nearly 1 out of 4 cards has some kind of error on it. It's so bad that I have to fact check every single card as a go along and now go back and check all of the ones I "learned." My cards are covered in red X's and filled in with handwritten fixes. Here is an example of one of the cards for the suffix -stasis. On the card, -stasis is defined as "stagnation of the blood or other fluids," and the "Word Building Example (WBE)" given is hemostasis and its definition is "Denoting one of the tumors or varices constituting hemorrhoids." WTF? Another example: one card classified under respiratory system. The front of the card has "sept/o, sept/i, and SEPTIC/O" as if they all mean the same thing and as if septic is a respiratory term. Flip the card and the definition says only "septum." Septo and septi mean septum but septic means putrid or rotten. Then the WBE is "septicemia" which means "putrid blood" and we all know is toxins in the blood. WTFFFFF!! These are just two examples of MANY. The front of the cards don't match the back, multiple words on the front don't match each other, the definitions on the backs of the cards are misspelled, incomplete, or wrong, pictures given don't match the word or the WBE, the WBE doesn't match the card, or lastly the definition given for the WBE is totally wrong!!! One last example... for the card -rrhexis, the back of the card gives the right definition which is "rupture," and the WBE is hepatorrhexis but the definition given for hepatorrhexis is “inflammation of the liver…”SMH man… What if I took these cards at face value and trusted them without fact checking? DO NOT BUY these crap cards.

My medical terminology class is way more advanced than these cards. I'm going to try to resell them since I live in a college town, but honestly, I've been writing out my own flash cards, these have stayed in the box.

Great for school.. but not in much of an order.. time consuming... im very glad i bought them though for my medical terminology class..

I bought this product to study for a state exam. There isn't anything in here you won't learn. You can set up the cards as you wish.

I absolutely loveeee these cards. They helped save me in my medical terminology class. I still use them when I come across something I can't remember. My teachers even ordered some for the class use.

The flash cards are great for learning medical terminology and often have examples/pictures for the terms. The only problem is that there have been duplicates of cards 436-440 in place of cards 536-540 in both of the flash card sets I received. Since it's only 5 terms missing, it's really not a huge deal and not worth the hassle to exchange them again (probably to receive another defective set). I would rate it higher if this was not a problem.

These are very helpful in addition to the med term book for my course. The pictures help with memorization opposed to making my own flashcards.
