I don't know enough yet to issue that fifth star, but so far, it has been a good experience. The first few chapters are very clearly written and easy to understand. The author does a good job of juggling the two different versions of medical coding: ICD-9, in use now, and ICD-10, to be implemented when the AMA gets around to making the upgrade. I think this book was a very good choice for a beginner.
First, this book was in excellent condition! It seemed to be BRAND new, though I bought it in used-very good condition. It arrived in a timely manner. I would definitely use this book seller again. As someone who is interested in learning more about coding before I take the plunge and take a class, this book has already been very helpful. I'm a self-starter, self-learner and for someone like me without any background in coding, it's an easy book to follow, so far. I like that it starts out with a history of coding and then provides questions at the end. I've already learned quite a bit. And it was such a great price compared to all of the other books out there. Now, as it delves deeper into the subject matter it might become more difficult, but that would have more to do with me and my lack of knowledge in this area. I was looking for something a beginner could understand and so far this is hitting the mark.
It has been a while since I graduated, and I wanted to study a little bit before I take the registry test. The content of this book is easy to read, clear and concise. I hope it will help me sharpen my coding skills so I can pass the test & get a better job.
I have used this textbook everyday. It easy to comprehend. I recommend this book for people who are learning medical coding.
I needed this text for my course. Well written and easy to understand. I like the fact that also has the ICD-10 included.
it is excellent for you to learn ICD-9-CM coding
Excellent learning tool.
