I would give it 5 stars, but am upset that all of Chapter 11 is missing without warning! Plus, the author only gives you the answer to the odd numbered questions. (Feels like I'm back in college--altho. I loved college!!!). I will still continue to use this seller tho. He's very good and trustworthy--except for this situation! Thanks for helping me re-learn my coding stuff and update my skills author and seller and .com!

Excellent book that is well organized and easy to follow. It is graphically illustrated and has organizational proceedures in finding information on billing problems. Well worth the money for professional use and documentation needs.

Well organized, goes hand in hand with the manuals. The exercises are really helpful, and throughout the book there are "coding shots" that give you specific pointers on the area you are coding for. Elsevier has a website that you can access for more information, and there is a workbook that you can also purchase for further practice. This book is primarily concerned with CPT coding, but there are overviews of ICD-9 and ICD-10 in the first part of the book. It is a "must have" as far as I am concerned.

This book is decent, but there are books that are much better at teaching and dealing with coding from the CPT and ICD 10 as far as basics go. There is even a few areas where the suggested answer for the instructor was wrong. Also, it is NOT ideal to start off with ICD 10 and then throw someone under the bus with ICD 9 info. THis causes a great deal of confusion for new coders.

This will be somewhat helpful but unless your school/instructor uses this workbook and can get the even number answers it is really not worth the money. they only give you the odd number answers, so you either have to google the even numbers or not know if you are correct.

I went to school and studies ICD-10 for 8 months, then on April 1, it was announced that the US will NOT go into ICD-10 but will stay with ICD-9. Well I bought this book to help me prepare for state board exam. It has been a great help.

I am studying on my own. I bought this as a supplemental tool in preparation for the CPC exam. i started working in it to realize only answers in the back are for the odd numbers and customer services REFUSES to give the even answers because I am not an instructor... but, yet I am not a student either.

Must have with the actual book. The questions in the book are good to practice and review with. The only thing I wished was that it gave the answers to both the even and the odd not just the odd.
