Was given this book along with a few others to study for the PCAT. I used this book primarily because it is the only one that reflects the changes made to the PCAT starting summer 2016. Granted I've only made it through the biology section and part of the chemistry during the time of this review.Pros:- Only study guide to reflect the new PCAT so far- Online practice exams mostly reflect the changes announced by the PCAT in timing and content- There are tear out study charts in the back of the bookCons:- Not nearly enough practice problems at the end of each chapter.- There are typos in a few chapters. Most are minor and obvious (VI instead of IV), and others are more detrimental (they get the ploidy / N number of chromosomes mixed up twice in the meiosis section).- The new PCAT will have some word problems in the math section, but the online practice exams for Kaplan don't have word problems.- Because of the lack of practice problems, the math section looks like it is not very helpful.I recommend you use this book as your primary study book and buy one or two more for supplement practice practice problems.
Content has a few errors and order of topics could be better. Review problems don't mirror actual test well enough. I wouldn't rely on it as the only review book, however it might help supplement content knowledge.
I really, really want to like this book, but you shouldn't rely solely on it. I studied the entire book (read all the pages except reading), took the practice tests, and reviewed some more and my composite was 56 percentile.Here's the breakdown:Chem: 68Bio: 46Math: 41Reading: 71I'm not okay with the bio and math score. I think the Kaplan does decent on bio, but I had a lot of test questions surround medicines in particular that weren't covered in the book. I'm incredibly unhappy about this.In addition, the math section doesn't prepare you at all for the test. It is poor in material (especially vectors, which I had at least 4 questions on) and it doesn't prepare you for the real thing.Additionally the kaplan tests are way more difficult than the real thing. I scores a 20 percentile and 40 percentile on those, and did much better on the real thing.The Kaplans readings are all science related, which is awful, and they usually bore me to death. The real PCAT readings cover a vast range of genres, and is more entertaining/engaging to read IMO.I can't stress enough that the math study section is NOT good enough. Don't rely on it. Use outside material.This has been mentioned over and over again, but there isn't enough questions in the book. Absolutely useless when you're trying to reinforce the information you learn.
Scored even better than I could've hoped for on the PCAT with this review. The online practice tests are exactly like the real thing, and the subject reviews go over everything you need to know in a concise way.
So far this is helping me out a ton to study for the PCAT! It helps to explain the set up of the test and it goes over a TON of information that could potentially be on the test. Also I really like the pages that you can pull out and study from!
Great information and easy to understand! Scored in 87th percentile using basically only this book. The practice tests were incredibly helpful. A few typos though or would have given 5 stars

This book has outstanding. The material is extremely thorough, easy to read and clear to understand. I feel fully prepared to take the PCAT exam from this source alone
