It's really not all that different from the textbook required for Principle of Management, except now it has a focus in Information Systems. The examples are good and recent. If you hadn't taken a management class previously, I would think that some of the concepts may be lost, it doesn't go over any basics just elaborates for the IS field.
Well if you are ordering this textbook for class, you don't really have much choice. But, I will say that I disliked it. :-)Some of the material is very dated. Some of it (in particular relating to databases and SQL) is just completely wrong.A small portion of it was interesting and useful, hence the 2 stars.
I purchased this book on for my MIS MBA class. It contained the basics of MIS, but I find it ironic that the MIS field depends on textbooks. It's an ever evolving field so to gain a full knowledge of the subject you'll need to review additional material either online or in print.
Helps Out With a lot of my past College Studies .Also gives me an edge in the workplace.A Must Read for Computer Information Majors.
Barely used this book as the class was pretty easy, but the book did come in handy a couple times.
I believe this is a good book for anyone looking for a book to study Information Systems. The reason I got was because it is a required book for my class that is in my major.
Looks great and arrived early.
This is a fantastic introduction book that actually reads better than most text books. Effy Oz has some rather interesting traits but they make the book that much more interesting... See if you can find them.
