Definitely the best review for this new format test. I used the other study guide and didn't pass. This book has a great layout and is easy to read. Covers what is in the exam for sure, I'll be taking it again soon and will be much more confident.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Waste of money. I took a chance and bought this when it was first released before there were any reviews on it. I think it may have helped a little just as a refresher, but as stated in other reviews, it is FULL of typos, errors, and wrong or missing information. Do yourself a favor and buy another test prep book even if it costs a little more.
I had someone order this for me and there is so many errors and misprints in the book it confuses more than helps you. I am actually worse off because of this book because of the amount of time I took checking their errors. I am taking the test tomorrow and feel like I am going to fail because of the amount of wasted time with this book. It is too late to order another one.The problem is that people are paying money to take this tests, with very limited and strict dates. And the result of these tests actually affect lives. To rely on a book like this only to discover it is not even accurate actually affects our lives and wallet negatively. This is a TEST PREP book for JOB CERTIFICATION. This blatant disregard for accuracy borders on negligent and fraudulent and I will be pursuing further action on this. This Absolutely unacceptable and should remove this from their catalog. I will be sure to add photos of the errors when I have time, but I feel the need to warn people to STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!
While this book does have a ton of useful information, it has countless errors as well. I have attached a couple pictures of the types of errors, but this is by no means all of them.Also, I purchased this book NEW and it arrived on the day it was released, however, neither of the online access codes for practice tests would work.I contacted the service team about the problem, and they have yet to solve it. The website also has a place to click and email to get an additional free practice test code. I did this as well, and I was given a code that gave me an error message. The message stated that the maximum usage limit had been met for that code.A big part of my draw to this book was the opportunity to take practice tests in a computer setting, since this is how I am signed up to take the actual test this weekend. I am frustrated that this part of my study plan has been squashed by the company's shortcomings.
I took the Praxis a week ago and passed. However, I wouldn't credit it to this book alone, most of the questions tested my prior knowledge. It was a great refresher and helpful reminder about how to take this kind of standardized test. But I will say, the actual test was much harder than the practice tests in the book, which scared me during the test. If you take the benchmark test in this book and don't get 2/3 correct, I'd study with this book and others just to cover more material.
Errors all in the book!!! Missing parts of the test questions, and wrong answers listed on some questions! Also had the same exact practice test as the 5014 practice book I bought. I am very disappointed! This is also my first time ever writing a review so for me to write shows I am aggraved because this book was a waste of my money!
I didn't think the poor reviews could possibly reflect so accurately on this product, but I found them to be completely true. This book has so many errors throughout that I could not trust it for study purposes. The practice test answer key contradicts itself, leaving you wondering what the correct answer really is. The practice tests have incomplete problems---no diagram with witch to answer a question, no coordinates on a graphing question, blurry maps, etc. A complete waste.
An absolutely terrible review for the praxis test. I spent hours with this book learning all the information inside and out, so I felt confident walking into my Language Arts test. However, I soon realized I was screwed over and the questioning on the actual test were very different than the questions in the practice sections of the book. There wasn't even that much overlap in the content. I wasted my time and money with this book and I do not recommend it. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK. And as others have said there are handful of typos in the text as well.
