My grandmother was the first generation born in the US and her parents were both born and raised in Hungary. This book is fabulous. Great recipes, ones my family has used for decades, and wonderful tid-bits about the culture. Wonderful purchase!
I've found various recipes online but I wanted something more comprehensive (and I do like cookbooks that are books). This was neither comprehensive nor were the recipes that good.It might be a good book for someone who knows little or nothing about Hungarian cuisine but I didn't find a single recipe that made me want to cook it.The book went into a bag to be donated to the local thrift store. Maybe somebody will find it there who will appreciate it more.
The item arrived on time and even though we purchase a used book it looks brand new. The receipes are delicious and very easy to prepare. The food probably is not that healthy but the receipes are great.
I bought this as a gift for a friend .. I was a little disappointed because it didn't have as many recipes as I thought it would but my friend did really like it ..
The book arrived in time. It is in perfect condition. The recipes are similar to the ones my mother made when I was growing up, so I am looking forward to trying them! It was a pleasure to do business with this seller. Would purchase from this seller again!
I am an experienced Hungarian cook and looked forward to learning new dishes from this book. While it would be ideal for a young adult or inexperienced cook, I did not learn anything new from this book. I plan on giving it to my public library.
