Bought this as an Xmas gift for my 7 yr old, who loves nature. Very well illustrated and organized. This particular book seems more current than some of the other Golden Guides published by St. Martin's.
My kids love these little books. They have been around for many years and are great to collect. I remember using these books when I was a kid to write reports in school.
I didn't realize this was a pocket edition, when I purchased it the picture of the book looked much larger. But, my son carries it in his back pocket and really enjoys reading it.
He loves fish, especially killer whales. I'm not sure these will float, they are kind of heavy. He liked them, they were stocking stuffers.
Nothing wrong with the book, just expected it to be larger and an easier read for my 8 year old Grandson.
