A nifty little guide for those who are interested in identifying various rocks and minerals in the field in Minnesota. Clear, nice photos with detailed descriptions make this book easy to understand and follow for the novice. Most of these rocks and minerals would be found anywhere in the Midwest and so could be used by people in other states in this area as well.
This book is very informative. The maps showing rock/minerals occurrence are helpful. The colour pictures are a nice size and show a lot of detail. The descriptions are very detailed. Nice size to carry with you.
It looks like this Dan Lynch field guide has everything a rockhound needs for easy I.D. of MN rocks and minerals with great photos and excellent text. I am now able to label things I found years ago! I can't wait to use it on our next MN vacation.
We are new to the rockhounding hobby and this book is a great resource! Looking forward to finding more great rocks :-)
