Well written with excellent photographs. This book is very engaging for young readers. I send it home with a stuffed panda in a pet carrier and children read the book and make "friends" with the panda. Then they write in a journal about their adventures. I find it's a great way to help children become aware of endangered species, pandas in particular obviously.
Awesome book! Great introduction to Panda's and easy to read. My granddaughter is 1st grade & she loved a NatGeo Kids magazine I picked up a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to give her this. I decided to order direct from rather than do the subscription based on numerous reviews concerning subscription/renewal issues. It is full of info & pictures & is gift quality!
Wonderful pictures and facts are presented in short, child friendly, terms. Every child who I have used this book express great excitement regarding the book.
I'm an avid "Panda Cam" watcher of the baby panda at The National Zoo in Washington DC. I have introduced my god child to MeiXing and BeiBei through the panda cam and she was captivated. I ordered the age appropriate national Geographic book on pandas so she could really learn about them. It's a great book for her age and she loves it.
My son had to do a research piece for second grade. He's a good reader, didn't have any problems reading and understanding this book. I like that though this is full of excellent facts, it still has beautiful engaging photos and interesting facts, easy table of contents, and beautiful, easy to read layout, color and sections.
Great read for my 8 year old. Bright vibrant colors and pictures. My daughterr had no problems with the words, or content. This is an easy read for my Panda loving little one. It was a great little surprise in the mail. Well written with great pictures. I would recommend this book to animal loving children.
This is a very nice booklet purchased for a third grader who had a school project featuring pandas. The book was perfect for her interest and her age.
I bought this for an 8 year old girl I was babysitting who loves pandas. She really enjoyed this book and we had a great time going through the book and reading all the fun facts. Fun educational time? Can't get any better in my book!
