Not having read the earlier books didn't help. The girls' lives are chaotic but they attend school and take tests. They have to deal with parents being hooked on prescription drugs or in jail, with boys who fight and fancy one girl but try to sleep with another, with physical danger from a foster father and from drug dealers. Not for younger readers, but young adults may appreciate it.

I believe that the Maya series are very entertaining and much better then the Kenosha series. I love how the book ending giving the girls a relationship that they had only at the beginning of the book when they were twelve

I liked the very end of this book when Maya and civilians put a end to their beef :)

i started off by reading the keysha series and progressed to the mya series i love these series and i hope they never end.
