I was surprised to find this study guide by ETS to be sub par since I have used all their others for Praxis, SAT, and AP and found them fine. There are two problems with this. You cannot check your scores bit by bit on the listening or speaking parts. You have to complete the entire section before seeing their answers, And, in Practice Test 1, the last questions in the listening comprehension, 32-34, do not appear, so you literally cannot complete the test and see how you did on all the other questions. ETS really needs to make their DVD program much more user friendly and get the bugs out.
I've been a TOEFL Tutor for nearly 9 years and have 8 books published that are available on .com. This ETS book is vital to teaching and to any student who wants genuine TOEFL iBT practice. For more help, look up "The TOEFL Master's Guide".
Hey! I used the first volume for first test and it worked well, so I got this one just to take more practice tests!Worked well with my lap top cd-rom, and reading & listening test gradings are automatic.Just to note that actual testings are little longer, but these were very similar to actual tests other than that!Great preps for someone who's waiting for immediate TOEFL testing.
It had good material and new tests for TOEFL prep students.
Quite helpful. Gives a real feel for the test, but doesn't provide Toefl equivalency scores (from 1 to 25) for each of the 4 tested areas. Only percentage scores are provided.
A necessity if you want more practice with the iBT TOEFL exams by the makers of the test. The CDs provide great practice for what the actual test will be like.
It is complete and easy to read. I have not finished reviewing but so far it has been a great help in my preparation for the exam.
Great book to practice for the TOEFL, however if you'd like to get your answers explained, this doesn't include so.
