This is a great study book! It has a ton of practice questions that helped me figure out what I did and did not know. If you want to get tons of GED practice questions and refine your test-taking, this book is for you! It has already definitely helped me! . Another great study aid that really helped me with the GED is Neutropix â Support Brain Function, Memory, Attention Span, Concentration & Clarity it is an amazing supplement that enhances your memory, focus and cognition, great for studying.
This actually comes with an online component, as well as the book, which includes two practice tests with rationales, Though it is thick, once you start reading through it, you realize it's not nearly as intimidating as it looks. A good portion of it is the test, with lots of empty space, room for graphics, and rationales that you may or may not even need to read.There's a website online, and don't worry about a lack of a code- on registration it will have you look up a page in the book and give a word that's easy to find. Then there's a shopping cart, but the balance will be 0.00 so there's no more cost.The book also helps with instructions on how to register and schedule your test. Since this book came out, in a lot of states passing scores have dropped from 150 per section to 145- if this includes your state, it will let you know that when you go to this GED testing site that the book lists. Georgia happens to be one of those states. Other than that, and that did just change in the last couple of weeks- everything about the book seems very current and updated.Just don't let the size of the book intimidate you. My son decided to break the test down into 4 sections since it costs the same no matter what, and that's what the people at the test center recommended to him. The book makes it easy to concentrate on one section of the test at a time if that is what you wish to do too.I trust Kaplan. I got my nursing license using Kaplan's test prep, and I was so prepared that I blew through the test so fast I thought surely I'd missed a large segment of it somehow. All my instructors always said if you can pass the Kaplan practice tests, you'll have no trouble on the real thing.
Way more helpful than I thought it would be. I probably learned more taking the pretest in this book, than I did sitting in class for five years. If you want to get your GED out of the way quick, this book is the way to go!
Of all the different study guides that I've received or bought (I purchased the 2015 version of this and received the 2016 Premier version to review as well), this on ranks in at number 2 for me, right after the 2016 Premier version.A noticeable difference between Kaplan's guides and others (especially the ones for "idiots" or from a certain Mc-Book company), Kaplan's are not riddled with errors!The large book LOOKS daunting, but because of how it is arranged and presented, along with it's ability to point out key importances, it is very easy and straight forward to follow. Comprehension and knowledge retention seems to be much higher because of this.Now why only three stars, it's not perfect nor does it hold up as well as the Premier version. Because of this, it gets a solid three stars. I would still recommend this book, but for only a few dollars more I would HIGHLY recommend Kaplan's GED Test Premier 2016. It has better online access/help/strategies and just seems more complete for helping you through the entire process and tests.
After a month and a half of purchasing this book and studying on my own, I completed each section of the GED test over a course of two weeks. With this book alone, I passed all sections!! This book is very informative and straight to the point. The practice tests in this book are harder than the actual tests, imo. However, the only information not valid presented in this book is an extended response for Social Studies. The Social Studies test does NOT require you to write an extended response/essay. I highly recommend this book though!!
Earning a GED is no snap. Studying for a test years, even decades for some, after one's last school experience is a challenge. Kaplan makes it much easier and I sure recommend this guide. Buy this, study it, and good luck Well actually, if you study this sufficiently, you won't need to trust to good luck. With Kaplan's help, it's never too late to get that GED
Kaplan produces a good GED Prep book. It accurately mimics the actual GED test and covers very closely the type of material that one would expect to find on the test. Is this cheating? Nope, it will only provide the student with a review of the material that they can expect to find on the test. If the student attends a GED prep program this material will have been covered. I teach students to prepare for the GED and have found this to be a valuable resource in regard to knowing what to prepare for and presenting realistic tests to take before the real deal.I like Kaplan because it reinforces the material and directs the student toward the types of problems and questions covered. If covered with diligence and if the sample tests are taken successfully there is no reason that the GED cannot be passed. Kaplan guarantees it and I have yet to have one of my students fail.
