I've only completed one practice test, but that was so carelessly written, that I feel I have no reason to trust the rest.Reading:- Options other than the right one are often ridiculously far out, bearing no relation to the text whatsoever. This means that you don't need to employ the same kind of logic to choose the right solution as you do with the real SAT. It feels like writers of the mock test didn't even strive to emulate that logic, they just wanted to get done with their day by writing down the first silly association that the question induced in their lazy minds.- The right alternatives for the "word most nearly means" questions usually don't exactly mean the same thing. You could think of more accurate alternatives yourself.- Texts don't feel like actual, real world examples. Even worse, they feel like they were all written by the same person. This might actually be the case, or might just be the result of poor choice by the editors. In either case, one of the crucial challenges ot the SAT, the need to quickly adjust to different literary styles, is gone.- Real SAT texts are usually interesting, I feel lucky to be able to read and learn from them. Kaplan texts are, with a few exceptions, a bore.Writing:- The boundaries between the reading and writing sections are somewhat blurred. There are question that test your vocabulary instead of your grammar skills.- In the real SAT when you have to insert a sentence, (A) it reads like a sentence that could actually be in the same paragraph, (B) you always have to insert it to a specific place. Kaplan often gives you a sentence which feels like a general summary of the paragraph instead of a sentence within it, and they don't specify where it would go.
