Another outstanding novel by Edward W. Robertson. It isn't often that you encounter an author whose novels won't let you put them down, so you put off the rest of your life until you're to the end. At that point, though, you feel as though you've only savored the top layer -- so you re-read the book, this time slowly, savoring the phrasing, the use of language, the character development, and the twists in the plot that you didn't see coming. Sometimes, with such a novel, you're loathe to start reading something else because you want to linger in those lands with the people there. And so it is with this sequel to the Cycle of Galand. I'm looking forward to the further adventures of Dante and Blays. And no, I'm not giving away anything here -- if you want to know what happens, you'll need to read the book. :~)
This is a great story! Cannot wait for the third one in this series. Not a great fantasy reader, but these stories are great! The first trilogy âthe Cycle of Arwan is a great three book read. The characters are in depth, the story plot is well thought out, and the adventures are without peer. This book continues where the last one left off, yet it explores different aspects of the world the author has created. Again, look forward for the last one in this Cycle of Garland, maybe there will be a third trilogyâ¦â¦â¦? Highly recommend this book.
I couldn't put it down for more than a few minutes at a time.I don't want to share any teasers or ruin this latest installment of Blays and Dante...Edward W. Robertson is a genius in his own right. He is already a legend in my personal library. If you asked random people who they would like to meet, some would toss out predictable answers like beyonce and vin diesel (winces, i know, plz forgive me lol)My answer would be this guy. Why? Because he doesn't merely entertain with his stories. Thru his characters he brings thought provoking ideas and wisdom that leave lasting impressions on his readers.Thanx for sharing your world with readers/fans Edward W Robertson! It is always a pleasure! To those looking for reviews before purchasing this book..my advice is to start from the beginning. Purchase The Cycle Of Arawn, The Red Sea AND the Silver Thief too! :)
If you're far into enough these to be looking at this one you already know what to expect. I'd say they keep getting consistently better. Characters are developing more, personalities are becoming more unique, and the story has stayed interesting.
Robertson has a way of writing his stories that makes you feel like you are growing along with the characters. Much of the dialogue feels like genuine candor, and he is descriptive without being dry. If you haven't read this series I highly suggest starting it.
Very well told story. Like in the previous books there is a lot of adventure and making the impossible possible alone with rediscovering lost histories. Lots of grim wit but I like that sort of thing.
This book is a page turner. I read it on my tablet and smart phone whenever I have a spare few minutes. Very enthralling detail in the universe that Mr. Robertson has created. I really enjoy his concept of magic and he adds in just the right amount of humor while still keeping it serious. Recommended to anyone who has enjoyed the mistborn series and the stormlight archive series.
I pre ordered this book because all of the books in the Cycle series have been great reads!! This one was no different. I can't wait for the next book and will pre order it as well. If you've read the Cycle series you have to read this one. It kept me up and reading till I finally finished. Read this book, it's a great read!
