Bought as a gift for an avid shark tooth hunter who travels twice a year to the Carolina coast. She absolutely adored this book, particularly the numerous pictures to help with identification. If this is your interest or hobby, you'll enjoy this book.
Shark Tooth Hunting on the Carolina Coast is a book that displays a clear expertise but is done so not with academic or stiff language but instead as if Oliphant is speaking right into your ear guiding you along the way. Her many years of experienceâdemonstrated by carefully selected and nicely displayed photographsâare given to the reader in almost tender terms; it is clear that she loves the hunt and wants you to love it too. I first purchased this book to guide me on my trip to Wilmington this summer, but am looking forward to buying additional copies for gifts this Christmas! All lovers of the beach should own this book.
Excellent book for any shark tooth lover, from the beginner to the professional. The text is highly accessible and filled with anecdotes and bits of trivia. The book covers how to look for shark teeth, where along the Carolina coast to look and what you might find there, an identification guide, and plenty of other useful information. Highly recommended.
This book is superb! I have been a tooth hunter for 50 years and learned a mass of information from this book. It is a fun read and very well written. I strongly recommend this to both collectors of sharks teeth, and others who simply want to learn more about sharks.
Well written in simple terms. Very informative and helpful to know more about the teeth that you find. Gives you good pointers for locating teeth on the beaches and good spots to look at named beach locations Well done!
Bought for family living in Myrtle Beach and they really liked it as they walk the beach frequently and now have a growing shark tooth collection.
Son loves this book!
Fantastic resource for a fun hobby.
