I am an educator at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I teach about sharks and the marine environment because I think education is the best conservation tactic we have. My lifelong fascination with sharks and the ocean all began with this book. Eugenie Clark was an inspiration. This book did a marvelous job of conveying Dr. Clark's enthusiam and awe for not just sharks but for science. This book changed my life.

A great account of Dr. Eugenie Clarks contributions and adventures in the field of marine biology/ and sharks in particula.r Amazing lady with such a love of life and thirst for knowledge . Her recent death at age 92 in Sarasota, Fl. a real loss to all who knew and loved her and to the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, which if you go to Sarasota is a MUST see.

Perfect for a project on Eugenie Clark. My daughter read this and learned much more than she typically does when researching a school project. This book contains good information and will grab a young reader's attention.

Unforgettable. I'd recommend it for children and adults alike. Reading of this woman's adventures had a great impact on how I look at the world. From the story of her childhood to some of her most exciting adventures with the sharks, the book is as masterfully written as any I've known. I can't believe this stuff actually happened.

Have you ever wanted to go deep into the ocean? If you do then this book will be interesting and good for you to read. I read this book because I thought it would be a fun and interesting book to read, and it turned out to be a pretty good book. There is a character named Eugene Clark, She is a pretty interesting girl. She loves looking at fish, she is very interested in learning about fish. Her mom understood how much Eugine likes fish, so every week on Saturday her mom would take her to an aquarium in the city. She would just walk around for hours looking at the fish. No one really knew why she liked fish so much, but that doesn’t matter. Eugene has always wanted to go diving with the fish. One day she asked her mom if she could have her own aquarium at home. Her mom Would bring her a new fish almost every day, Eugene was pretty surprised on how much fish she collected. Once she reached college, She knew that she wanted to be a ichthyologist. I liked this book because it was a fun book to read. At times it was kind of boring, but the boring parts go by really fast. I liked how the book told about what happened when she was in elementary school and college, It also told about what happened after college. But if you want to know what happens you have to read the book yourself. I would recommend it for any age actually, but its probably a better book for 6TH-7Th graders. I’d give it a three out of five star rating, because it was a fun and interesting book. But at times it was boring for me, you could have a different opinion. Written by Destiny, 7th grade

I loved this book as a child and read through it many many times. I bought for my 9-year-old nephew to read on a trip to the Mote Marine Lab in Florida and he was absolutely absorbed all the way there and most of the way home.

I loved this book as a child and could not wait to purchase for my own daughter when she was born. The price was so low I could not resist. I loved the story of a smart, adventurous woman who loved the ocean as much as I did as a child.

I read this book as a child and it really changed my little life. Eugenie Clark was my hero. I wanted to be an oceanographer. I loved this book so much! Tonight, my 7 year old son was talking about sharks, and it reminded me of this book. I looked it up and learned Eugenie passed away a couple of months ago. Now I'd like to share this book with my kids. I hope they like it as much as I did.
