I go back to this book time and time again to re-read passages, but mostly to look at the glorious pictures and appreciate all the bodies of water and aquatic life honored in this wonderful book. The artwork is magnificent, and the feeling of the book just makes you appreciate your wetlands so much.

I love the rich illustrations of Maryjo Koch. The sequence of going from pond to lake to river and sea, was wonderful. Her text is very insightful and I like the way she interplays the text with her illustrations.

This is a beautifully illustrated, fact-filled book that reminds me of opening the door to a secret world. It is refreshment for the Soul of the reader.

Great book for the coffee table- beautiful illustrations along with the natural history of the subjects. Great as a gift for oneself or another.
