I bought this as a gift and read through a couple of pages -- the book features some interesting information in very small, memorable bits. (My only complaint is that it isn't longer.) I didn't know grouper changed sexes, and it reminded me of the names of a number of shells I see on the Gulf Coast beaches. Lovely illustrations, too. I'll buy more of these guides to give out.

The Peterson guides are small but packed with information and pictures. It's a great resource for learning about the animals near the seashore.
