I found this book to be pretty good and used it throughout our October trip to Disneyland. I even found my husband (generally anti-Disney) reading it while we took rest breaks at our hotel. I still prefer the Unofficial guides to this book even though Birnbaum's guides are Disney approved (sugar coated). I believe this book is informative and well layed out (colorful and the maps were good). Definitely recommend a mid September/October visit to avoid the crowds (the book recommends it too).

I bought this book because I had used the Birnbaum's 2005 Walt Disney World book and loved it. The layout is very appealing, easy-to-read, and lots of pictures. It really gives you all the information you need to be prepared in a quick reference way. This will be my first time to Disneyland. I found that there is not as much info on the internet on Disneyland as there is on Disney World. This book is great for showing all the rides, restaurants, shopping, and other activities that Disneyland and Anaheim have to offer. However, if you prefer the meatier, no-nonsense travel guides, I would suggest going with the Unofficial guides (I used that one for Disney World, but have not used it for Disneyland).

This book has some good information, but it feels very biased (as if it is written by the Disney people to encourage you to spend as much money as possible at Disneyland). It is worth reading, but should not be your only resource!
