I've waited months for this, and it didn't let me down. It's a fundraiser for ZooBorns.com and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Conservation Endowment Fund. If you don't know the website, check it out immediately, then buy the book (or the children's version ZooBorns!).It's a perfect example of what the web should be and this book is a delightful way to enjoy it offline. Gorgeous pictures, with just enough information to make you want more- but it's all about the pictures.

ZooBorns features baby animals from zoos and aquariums around the world, and discusses the role that these births play in conservation efforts. Beautiful photos of animals are accompanied by descriptions that include the dates of births, their endangered status, and background stories for each baby.In ZooBorns pages, you will find well known animals like orangutans, giraffes and kangaroos. However, you will also see photos of animals like the crowned sifaka and the rock hyrax that I've personally never seen or heard of before.ZooBorns is more of a photo/coffee table book than one that required dedicated reading. The images are too adorable for words and you will definitely find an animal or two that you knew nothing before opening this book. It's likely to appeal to adults and children alike, and will surely spark a conversation in any room!

I own both of the ZooBorns books and have bought a bunch of extras to give as Christmas gifts to my niece and nephews. The photos are precious and I love the additional information about each of the animals featured. This book is now prominently displayed on our coffee table. If you are looking for a fun little gift for an animal lover - of any age - you can't go wrong with ZooBorns!

Nice book, packed with unusual animals you don't often encounter. It was MUCH too long to be a story book. I didn't realize how long it would be. We ended up reading about a few animals a night until we got through it (which took quite a while). Some animals didn't have as much information as I'd like. But the photographs are lovely, crisp and adorable. All in all it was a good book.

Absolutely adorable, and has some nice information about animals you might never have seen before and the pictures are amazing. Warning though, this book is small, it isn't a coffee table size item. I have bought this for children who were in wonder of it, it has the same effect on adults!

This is similar to another book by the same authors having larger full-page photos. This book is smaller but has more photos of each animal with personal info and a cute story. I bought both books 'cause I couldn't choose between the two! (Both were in the local library.) The photos really are amazing especially those of one of my favorite animals...rhinos. Another excellent book all zoo animal lovers will enjoy.

Expected a coffeetable book - you know, LARGE. But it is TINY, about 4x4" ! If you are familiar with the ZooBorns website you know what to expect inside, but I was VERY disappointed in its teeny size. Oh well.

I saw this in the bookstore-but knew would be cheaper. Even the most horrible human being will go "awwwww"-and parts of the proceeds go to an animal charity (forgive me -can't remember which one) so there's a plus. I bought it as a gift for my daughter and I know she'll love it. There are educational tidbits in it too.....and for the price it's worth the mood alteration
