I started reading this series because "Once" is part of a book club at my middle school. My students loved it so I read it and moved on to all the other books. They are wonderful for kids and adults.
I was very moved by Once and Then. I loved Felix's youthful voice and naivete in both of them. I just sort of assumed Now would continue right after Then. I did not read anything about it, just picked it up and started reading. If you are reading this review, there is a good chance you already read what the book is about. If not, don't! Just pick it up and start reading it.So, if you did read what the story is about, I will go into it a bit more. You do not necessarily need to read the other books first, but I highly recommend it. Felix brings up a lot of stories and emotions from his past. His granddaughter Zelda, obviously named for the girl he tried to save in the other books, has a similar voice to Felix during his youth. It really tied this book into the series.I have so many things I want to say about this book, but I don't want to ruin anything either. It is a very powerful book that I literally could not put down. I was thankful it was a quick read, or I would have gotten no sleep. I was constantly on edge, waiting for tragedy to strike. Within this book there was adventure, emotion, personal growth, and revelations. It is a wonderful addition to a fantastic series.
Its a great book it is a perfect blend of Nonfiction and Historical fiction I just love it you should really read it if you can
Very moving and engaging story. I truly enjoyed every minute and could't wait to find out what happened next. Found it had sometimes to laugh at the child like perspectives of the awful things that were really happening. Must read
This is an excellent book for young readers learning about the Nazis. Written well enough to make a connection with the characters....brought tears yo my eyes.
I liked this book a lot because it teaches you that you don't need to be famous to be a hero
