Great book for beginning nursing students. Have been studying it to brush up on my math skills that I have since stored away. It's been a long time since high school and this book has really prepared me for nursing school which starts in a few days. Highly recommend!!!
I normally like studying on youtube, but I actually prefer this book. Its an excellent book. Its straight to the point, explains all of the problems really well, gives you a ton of practice, and is easy to understand. If you're having trouble with pharmacology I would definitely recommend it.
Bought this for my girlfriend's nursing class. She says it is the exact book she needed and for significantly less than the book store or any other site. Book also came in amazing condition! highly recommend.
This is overall is a really good book however, I'm giving this book 3 stars because I did find errors and wrong answers that I think the manufacture should fix and be aware of. Otherwise I rented the book and a great price and it did help me understand math , just double check your work and watch for the errors
I have three co-workers who are nurses they both said to me "where was this book when I was going through nursing school" So I am excited and I have begun using it, its really good. A lot of pictures and practice review to help understand and I do a lot of note taking so yes I am going through this book before I take my dosage and calculations class so I can get a good grade and not be lost entering the class.
I previously bought another dosage calculations book and wasn't successful in passing the test with it. I studied it cover to cover and felt as though I really knew the material. After having heard about Calculate with Confidence from someone at my college I purchased the book. There are quizzes after each section, at the end of each chapter as well as a test at the end of the book testing all material. This book was extremely informative and aided me in passing the second time around.
Although "required" for the nursing program this book was a huge waste of time for me. I know that some people benefit from extra practice, but if you can do basic math, you'll be fine for drug calculations.
